NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP

In the past 25 years, a “natural” horsemanship movement has evolved to counter the use of force and punishment as a method of training horses.  The masters of natural horsemanship such as Monty Roberts, Ray Hunt, Linda Tellington-Jones, Pat and Linda Parelli, Clinton Anderson and GaWaNi Pony Boy all use similar techniques.
Based on patience, incremental learning in small steps and the proper balance in the horse-human relationship between dominance and equality, leadership and followership.  By playing the games horses play with each other horse and human become tuned into each other’s signals and trusting of each other’s intentions and requests. This commonality of language translates to better communication, teamwork and performance in the saddle.

What makes Lynn’s
teaching style both
powerful and effective?

Lynn Brown
"If I train your horse, he learns to respect ME which does nothing to change his perception of YOU. Your horse alone now posses the new knowledge which will only translate temporarily into new behaviors... However, when I empower you with the knowledge to communicate like a leader with your horse, he will also learn to willingly honor your ideas and respect your leadership. No one can take that away from you.
